South Dakota Republican Party Executive Director Budmayr to Step Aside

March 2nd, 2017

Ryan Budmayr, the executive director of the South Dakota Republican Party, has announced his intention to step aside later this month. Budmayr served as executive director throughout the 2016 election cycle and the 2017 legislative session.

Lederman had high praise for the outgoing Director. “Ryan helped to provide leadership for the party at a time we reached fifty year heights for the number of Republicans elected to office in South Dakota.  It’s testament to his efforts that we’re now looking for two people to replace him.”

With Budmayr's departure, the South Dakota Republican Party is seeking applications for two positions. The Central Committee is accepting applications for a Director of Communications and Finance Director to replace Budmayr.

“This week, the Republican State CentralCommittee discussed restructuring and re-prioritizing the GOP’s central office towards the activities of party building, volunteer coordination, communication, and ramping up our operations for what we view as the biggest election in nearly a decade,” Lederman said.
The Communications Director will be responsible for developing, implementing and supervising the Party's communications program and messaging, including press and public relations, earned media, paid media, publications, advertising, and support to the State Central Committee, Executive Board, and county parties.

The Finance Director will work with the party’s Executive Board to develop a comprehensive fund-raising program each year, including Direct Mail, Telemarketing, events, and other fundraising opportunities.

Lederman noted “The State Central Committeewill begin to review applications as soon as March 11th, so we would encourage interested parties to contact us right away.”
