Resolutions › Resolution 13

WHEREAS, Governor Mitt Romney has a proven track record of creating jobs, turning corporations around, and true leadership

WHEREAS, Senator John Thune, Representative Kristi Noem, and Governor Dennis Daugaard need cooperation from the federal executive branch to enact a pro-growth strategy

WHEREAS, since September 2008 South Dakota and the county has suffered from the worse economic melt down since the Great Depression of the 1930s, and

WHEREAS, since the inauguration of President Barrack Obama on January 21, 2009 the President has followed a similar economic strategy to that practiced by President Franklin D. Roosevelt over seventy-five years ago, and

WHEREAS, today this economic strategy has resulted in the same impact as it did in the 1930s of many years of unnecessary high unemployment, exorbitant government spending, unprecedented government debt, more intrusive government regulation, and the increased printing of paper money, and

WHEREAS, President Obama’s economic strategy has resulted in a lower standard of living for all Americans, particularly young people looking for jobs, middle class people who have lost their jobs and the value of their homes, and senior citizens who have had their retirement accounts decimated, and

WHEREAS, the truly innocent victims of President Obama’s policies are the children and grandchildren who are being reared during this time of a lowered standard of living and who will be burdened in the future by paying off trillions of dollars of government debt,

THEREFOR BE IT RESOLVED the South Dakota Republican Party goes on record to affirm that the most important step that the American people can take in order to get the country out of this economic crisis and to improve the economy for all American people is to vote for our Republican presidential candidate Governor Mitt Romney.
